Around 2007, two members of St. James' Episcopal Church attended a one-day workshop based on the PBS Series Race: The Power of an Illusion. They made several changes to fit the needs of their community: they divided the workshop into three sessions to provide time for participants to digest the information and form community, emphasized radical hospitality (accepting everyone, no matter their background or opinion), and used Eric Law's mutual invitation method for sharing. Soon other churches began asking for them to present their workshop. In 2014, they rebranded the series and updated it to include other concepts from Eric Law's book The Wolf Shall Dwell with the Lamb. To date we have presented the One Human Race Series at over a dozen Austin area churches.
